Unique Hilltopping and Foxhunting Event on Thanksgiving Morning: “Hilltopping” allows us to view Foxhunting* as it is: an opportunity for humans to experience nature at its finest, at no one’s expense. The fox is in charge, and thoroughly capable of proving to the hounds, as well as the humans, that this is so! Join Kim Pickett for a unique experience for the entire family! On Thanksgiving morning attend The Blessing of the Hounds Ceremony, after which we’ll “hilltop” by car, to participate in the Foxhunt Experience! To prepare for the experience, you will attend an enjoyable, informal 2-hour informative discussion. There is no science here. It is about weather, scenting, conditions of the land, and how a capable hunter, such as a fox or a hound, copes with the variables. Both fox and hounds are clever, able hunters, and clearly the smart and sophisticated fox is in charge of his environment! Comfort yourself as you discover why they say “Sly as a Fox!” and learn how the fox participates and WINS at this game! *Many believe that foxhunting includes a "kill," but in the United States, it does not. In fact, a kill is an unfortunate occurrence, as it removes a fox from the fox population, which many foxhunters in America work hard at protecting. That is why many foxhunters feed fox canned dog food, know the dens where cubs and vixen grow together, and protect against development, which might harm the fox population. I strongly encourage humans to learn the truth about their perceptions, and discover that our minds are able to cause as much harm as good. Living fully in the body, for example, through experiencing the woods through the mind of a fox, is a strong step towards building a bridge back to our original nature, and remembering what the animals have never forgotten.
